Nominations now being accepted
Each year at their awards banquet, the Greater Picayune Area Chamber of Commerce presents awards to the Citizen of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and the Civic Club of the Year. Award recipients are chosen from nominations submitted by members of the Greater Picayune Area community.
The Chamber is now accepting nominations for the 2008 awards and encourages everyone to submit their nominations for individuals and civic clubs who are deserving of recognition for their work in the community during the passed year. Almost everyone knows a person or civic organization that has given of their time, energy, and resources to help in the Hurricane Katrina aftermath, and these people should be nominated for an award.
Nomination forms are available at the Chamber of Commerce office, 201 Highway 11 North, or can printed from the Chamber website at Citizen of the Year or Volunteer of the Year or Civic Club of the Year. Completed nominations forms must be submitted at the Chamber office by 4 PM on Thursday, October 17.
The awards will be presented to the selected recipients at the Annual Awards Banquet, and the date of the banquet will be announced soon.
