Have a question about the Chamber or how joining can benefit your business? We've got answers for you. Here are the most Frequently Asked Questions for the Chamber.

Q: What are the operating hours of the Chamber of Commerce? Does the chamber office close on Fridays like the city offices do?
A: The Chamber is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Q: If I join the chamber, will you recommend my business to residents looking for my service/product?
A: Of course, that is the Chamber’s job. We recommend our member business by face-to-face contact with people, over the phone, via e-mail and our website.

Q: If my business is located outside the city limits of Picayune, may I still join?
A: Yes.

Q: Running my business keeps me busy, so I have limited time. Will I be required to be active in committees, etc if I join the chamber?
A: We always love to see members at events; however, your activity level depends on you. Business are not required to attend functions.

Q: I want to join the chamber, and I want to be active. How can I volunteer for committees?
A: Just notify the chamber and we will give you a list of committees and help you decide where you would best fit.

Q: When the chamber has a before or after hours event, may I bring a guest?
A: Yes, please bring a guest.

Q: What is the difference between a “voting” member and a “non-voting” member?
A: A voting member votes for the Chamber’s Board of Directors and may also be nominated for the Board of Directors. A non-voting member does not have voting rights.

Q: How can I get the chamber of commerce to endorse my candidacy for office?
A: The chamber does not endorse anyone running for office.

Q: I am opening a new business, how can the chamber help me?
A: The chamber can link you with SBA, MDA, South MS Procurement Center, South MS Planning & Development District and SCORE through counseling sessions, classes and seminars.

Q: How can I use the chamber to market my business?
A: The chamber offers comprehensive marketing benefits through publications, website, programs and special events that can help your business achieve multiple objectives.

Q: What is the best way to use the Chamber to build my business network?
A: The best way to build your business network is to develop relationships with other Chamber members. All Chamber programs are designed to give you opportunities to make new contacts and strengthen existing relationships. The more you attend and the more actively you participate, the faster and deeper you grow.
