Chamber Website

The Chamber's website includes valuable information about the Picayune area and business community.  All Chamber Members are listed in our easy to use "Membership Listing" complete with a free hotlink to your business website.  Chamber Members can also purchase a banner or an ad to “stand out from the crowd” on the website at a very affordable monthly rate, or you can have a larger ad on a per month basis at an affordable rate.

Member lists are provided at no charge. Mailing labels are available for $30. You can copy them and use them over and over to reach a targeted market. Membership labels are available on CD for $15.00.

Mailings

• The Chamber Chatter Newsletter is published and distributed to all members via e-mail on a monthly basis. Opportunities for advertising abound and you get great results by knowing your advertising is being seen by reputable, Chamber members. It is a great way to target your market.

You also have the opportunity to have a free spotlight. Whether that is your Grand Opening or something as special as your 10th anniversary, the Chamber will showcase your story along with your submitted jpeg photo. These are on a first come first served basis, with a limit of one story per six months.

• The Chamber Insight, a weekly e-mail reminder of upcoming chamber events.
• In the Know, a weekly e-mail sent to membership on Friday made up of advertisements from chamber businesses.

Professional Development

The Chamber will connect you through counseling sessions, classes and seminars with the MS Small Business Development Center, South MS Contract Procurement Center, Inc., SCORE and the Better Business Bureau.

Insurance

Chamber membership offers affordable, high quality health insurance for businesses with two or more employees. Members may choose between OneSource RMS or Blue Cross for their coverage.

Business Exposure & Networking

• Business After Hours creates an opportunity for both members and host to mingle and build business relationships in an informal, relaxed business setting. The host is extremely exceptional because they will have over 300 people invited to their business location on a single occasion. It is the host night to shine and show everything their business has to offer to the community.

• Morning Call Breakfast is held monthly and is a business development program that helps members build business relationships in order to increase sales and revenue. All attendees are given the opportunity to promote their business to the group and the group, in turn, becomes an additional sales force referring group business. The sponsor has an opportunity to go in detail of what their business has to offer.

• Every first Saturday of the month, except in April and November, the Chamber hosts Trade Days from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a blend of a flea market and a garage sale and a fair. You can find everything from antiques to special items to rare finds. But, the sky is the limit as to what you can sell or offer. As a member you have the opportunity to set up a table and reach out to tourists and locals in a different forum than your storefront.

• Coffee with the Mayor is held quarterly at the Margaret Reed Crosby Library. This event gives members a chance to hear 1st hand knowledge on current and future city plans and projects, followed by a question and answer session. This is another opportunity for members to gain valuable networking contacts.

• Just for Fun Luncheon is held monthly to support our local restaurants. Chamber members enjoy a Dutch treat luncheon held the first Thursday of each month. This is a relaxed event where members enjoy a great meal and support a fellow chamber member.

• Yearly new Chamber logo signs are distributed to identify active Greater Picayune Area Chamber of Commerce members, which shows the community, the business is investing in the area and supports its progress.

WRJW

Our local radio station, WRJW, has partnered with the Chamber to give many perks to Chamber members. Members receive free job opening announcements that are aired three times per day, Monday through Friday, at 7:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. and at noon on Saturday and also included on the on-line Job Bank at wrjwradio.com. The Chamber Update is a monthly program where members of the Board of Directors talk about Chamber activities and new members are mentioned along with good things happening through the community. As a new member of the Chamber, WRJW will air a week of “Welcoming Salutes” for your business, a $320.00 value.

Picayune Item

Partnership with the local newspaper showcases a Business of the Month. The newspaper also covers Grand Openings, Ribbon Cuttings and other special events of its advertisers who are Chamber members.
