What is the Chamber?
The
Greater Picayune
Area Chamber is a voluntary organization of business professionals who have joined
together to provide a forum and network for promoting the economic, civic and social well
being of the Picayune area.
You are encouraged to
join in planning the future of your business and the growing community of the Picayune
area.
What the Chamber does?
First referral to Chamber Members.
Provides Web Site for the
Greater Picayune Area Chamber of Commerce with no-cost membership listing and reasonably
priced hot links for members.
Promotes new business membership by spotlighting
your business on local radio station WRJW and on the web site: www.picayunechamber.org.
Provides free Job Bank
assistance by local radio station, WRJW.
Highlights a Chamber "Business of
the Week" in cooperation with the Picayune Item.
Provides visitors and members official
Chamber of Commerce maps, information, and assistance with local events
and facts.
Presents awards for Citizen of the Year, Civic
Club of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year at the Chamber of Commerce Annual
meeting and Banquet.
Organizes and hosts receptions
for new teachers and appreciation banquets for firemen and law enforcement officers.
Publishes and distributes a Chamber
Newsletter.
Greets visitors and new residents and provides
information about the Picayune area by mail, phone, and electronic
communication.
Publishes Chamber membership Directory
and buyers guide.
Provides a brochure on
Picayune.
Assist with Grand Openings, Ground
Breakings, and other special events.
Provides for members to purchase ads
in Chamber Newsletter, Chamber
Directory, Official Chamber Maps, and other designated
Chamber publications.
Encourages members to submit announcements
and information to be published
in the Chamber Newsletter.
Coordinates Business After Hours
socials hosted by members.
Maintains an information library
on businesses, industries, community demographics, traffic flow, sales tax collection,
population, employment, business trends, and more. Provides research data when
possible.
Supports solicitation
control.
Provides information on combating
illegal acts and practices.
Provides a membership list to
members and mailing labels to members upon request.
